《Slow and steady wins the race》

‘’Slow and steady wins the race’’ is a story about a rabbit and tortoise. We have known this story since childhood. The story says that you can be more successful by doing things slowly and steadily than by acting quickly and carelessly.

Imagine two people. One person gets motivated for a day and does 500 push-ups; the next, he starts procrastinating. After a week, he gets the same motivation and the loop continues. There is no use in this. But the other person has some discipline, he has a consistent mindset, and he does 100 push-ups each day. It is more effective than someone who does 500 push-ups in a single day.

It’s not about the power, it’s the consistency that matters. Taking small steps with consistency is better than taking one big step.

Everyone needs some motivation to do work. But it is not healthy in all aspects. Most people procrastinate (拖延) their time, so they need motivation. Warren Buffett says, “An idiot with a plan can beat a genius without a plan”. Commit to the task, you have a job and you have to do it wholeheartedly. If you do that, you will not need motivation, it leads through discipline. Nowadays, people have too many distractions and easily get satisfied with what they get. At the end of the day, both motivation and discipline lead to success.
